Terms of Service

Trade Register UK is published by The Register Group and operated by UKC LABS LTD, registered in England & Wales No. 13622416, VAT No. GB476819146. By submitting a listing or using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not submit a listing.

We are a directory service. We list businesses that have applied to be listed; we are not the tradesperson, contractor or supplier, and we do not carry out, supervise or guarantee any work.

You are responsible for the information you submit. You confirm that:

• you are the business, or are authorised to submit it;
• the business name, trade, location, contact details and website you provide are accurate and current;
• you own the photographs you upload or have permission to use them, and they do not infringe anyone else's rights;
• the description does not contain unlawful, misleading, defamatory or infringing material, and does not make claims you cannot substantiate.

You must tell us promptly when details change so customers are not misdirected. Listings that become inaccurate or unused may be amended or removed.

Every listing is reviewed by our team before it goes live, and we assess whether it is suitable for the directory. We are not obliged to publish every submission and we set our own standards for what appears. We may decline a submission, or suspend, amend the placement of, or remove a published listing at any time, including where a listing is inaccurate, duplicate, misleading, offensive, unrelated to a genuine UK home services business, or in breach of these terms. Where practical we will tell you why.

Inclusion in the directory is not an endorsement, certification, accreditation or guarantee of the quality of any business, and it does not make us responsible for that business's conduct.

Standard listings are free. A standard submission joins the standard review queue and is usually reviewed within 7-14 business days. It is ranked in the same way as other standard listings. Submitting a listing creates no right to permanent placement, a particular position, or any minimum level of visibility.

FastTrack + Featured is an optional paid listing type costing £49/year, including VAT, payable annually through Stripe. It provides:

• Top placement in your trade and county
• Gold "Featured" badge
• Homepage registry spotlight

Priority review means we aim to review a submission within 1 business day of a complete and suitable submission, not that approval is automatic. Featured status applies while the subscription period is active and while the listing remains compliant with these terms. Paying does not give a business any say over other listings, and it does not alter the review standards applied to a submission.

All upgrade payments are taken by card through Stripe at the time of purchase; we do not store card details. The £49/year fee covers twelve months from the date of payment and is not renewed automatically unless you choose to pay again.

• If your listing has not yet been published, you may request a full refund within 14 days of payment by emailing hello@ukc.uk.
• Once a listing has been published as Featured, the fee is for the period already provided and is not refundable for the unused part of the year, except where we remove the listing for our own reasons, in which case we refund the unused portion on a pro-rata basis.
• To stop after the current period, simply do not renew; the listing returns to standard placement when the period ends.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights, including the right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days where the service has not yet begun.

You agree not to:

• copy, scrape or systematically download listing data, photographs or contact details for your own directory, marketing databases or unsolicited messaging;
• use listing contact details for bulk or automated messaging, or for any purpose a business has not agreed to;
• submit false, duplicate or speculative listings, or attempt to interfere with the site, its review process or its administration.

You keep ownership of your business name, logo, description and photographs. By submitting them you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and store them on the directory and in related notifications, for as long as the listing is live. The site design, branding, text and compilation of listings belong to us and may not be reproduced without permission.

Any contract for work is between you and the business you choose. You should agree scope, price, timescales and insurance or warranty cover directly with that business. We are not a party to that contract and are not liable for any work, loss or damage arising from it.

The site is provided "as is" for finding local businesses. While we review submissions and aim to keep listings accurate, we do not warrant that listings are complete, current or suitable for your needs. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from reliance on directory information, other than liability that cannot be excluded. Nothing in this section excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

We may update these terms; the version published at this address is the one in force when you submit a listing or buy an upgrade. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@ukc.uk.
